It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Auckland-based Expedio have come onboard as a national sponsor with a donation of $5000 to Trail Fund NZ. Expedio isn’t some obscure mountain bike brand that you just haven’t heard of yet, it’s actually not a bike brand at all. Instead it’s an industrial property development and leasing company based in South Auckland.
This support has come about because the awesome folks at Expedio share our view that trails are a wider public good which deliver a range of benefits to the community including improved health and well being. They like the low overhead, high impact model we’ve put together and are excited to be able to give something back through a partnership with Trail Fund NZ.
One of the key reasons for setting up Trail Fund NZ was to create an nationally recognised brand that could be used to raise more funding than had been possible before by individual clubs and projects. We also believe that the long term play is to build something that will attract interest from outside of the bike industry. This financial contribution by Expedio is a great early endorsement of that thinking and is very much appreciated.
